Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and solution-driven Automation Specialist with 7+ years of hands-on experience in workflow automation, API integration, and business process optimization using tools like Zapier, Make (Integromat), Python scripting, and custom API connectors.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing robust automation workflows that connect diverse SaaS platforms, CRMs, databases, and third-party APIs. This role demands deep technical expertise, a strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to translate complex business operations into scalable automation systems that save time, reduce costs, and improve efficiency across departments.

This is both a strategic and technical role, requiring excellent analytical, coding, and systems integration skills, along with clear communication to align automation projects with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

(A) Automation Design & Development
1. Architect and develop advanced automation workflows using Zapier, Make (Integromat), Python, and REST APIs.
2. Analyze manual processes, identify automation opportunities, and design solutions that eliminate redundancies and improve scalability.
3. Build and maintain custom API integrations between CRMs, marketing tools, databases, and SaaS platforms (e.g., HubSpot, AirTable, Slack, Google Sheets, LinkedIn, etc.).
4. Create reusable automation modules, scripts, and functions for rapid deployment and scalability.
5. Design automation triggers, webhooks, and error-handling systems for consistent workflow reliability.

(B) Scripting & Advanced Integrations
1. Develop and deploy Python-based scripts for advanced automation where out-of-the-box tools fall short.
2. Work with APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2, and webhooks to create seamless integrations between complex systems.
3. Implement data validation, transformation, and synchronization processes across multiple applications.
4. Handle custom authentication flows and token refresh mechanisms for secure, persistent API connections.
5. Maintain documentation for all custom API endpoints, scripts, and automation logic.

(C) System Optimization & Maintenance
1. Continuously monitor automation workflows to ensure uptime, scalability, and performance.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as task failures, rate limits, API deprecations, and version changes.
3. Implement logging, reporting, and notification systems for proactive issue detection and resolution.
4. Maintain an organized library of automations, categorized by function, client, and dependency.
5. Review and refactor automation systems for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability.

(D) Collaboration & Consultation
1. Work with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers to assess automation requirements and translate them into actionable workflows.
2. Provide strategic consultation to clients and internal teams on how automation can streamline business operations.
3. Document all workflows and integrations, ensuring reproducibility and cross-team knowledge transfer.
4. Train non-technical team members on automation tools, dashboards, and workflow management.
5. Liaise with API providers or SaaS vendors for integration support and enhancements.

(E) Innovation & Continuous Improvement
1. Research emerging automation tools, AI-powered workflow engines, and low-code/no-code technologies.
2. Evaluate and implement AI-driven automation (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Vertex AI integrations) for next-level process enhancement.
3. Develop proof-of-concepts for new automation ideas and present them to leadership for adoption.
4. Establish automation best practices, governance policies, and security standards.
5. Continuously evolve automation systems to support business growth and evolving technical ecosystems.

Qualifications & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in automation development, systems integration, and API-based workflows.

• Familiarity with database systems (SQL, Airtable, Firebase, MongoDB) and data synchronization.
• Ability to interpret process maps, SOPs, and convert them into technical automation workflows.
• Strong debugging, testing, and documentation practices.
• Excellent understanding of error handling, rate limiting, and API throttling mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, or similar) is a plus.
